Lara's academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University in Illinois. Through the convergence of her educational background, skillset, and love for animals, Lara has successfully launched Wishing Wellness, underscoring her fervent advocacy for holistic animal health and wellness.
Brian plays an integral role within the Wishing Wellness team. Actively engaging in animal care and wellness initiatives, providing support during wellness appointments, and maintaining rigorous product quality control. Fueled by his unwavering commitment to animals of all sizes.
Dr. Longacre, or Dr. D as she is fondly known, is the owner and chiropractor at Evergreen Chiropractic and Wellness, and also at Evergreen Animal Chiropractic. Boasting over 13 years of experience as a human chiropractor, she is also certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in animal chiropractic. Dr. Longacre has pursued additional training in food animal chiropractic and is overseeing the chiropractic care of the animals at Wishing Wellness. As one of a mere 38 certified professionals nationwide in food animal chiropractic, her unwavering dedication and love for animals have secured her position as president of the Animal Chiropractic Chapter of the International Chiropractic Association. Her passion for holistic health, encompassing both humans and animals, is inspiring.
As Dr. Longacre's trusted Goldendoodle, Lucy, aged one and a half years, excels in her role as Evergreen Animal Chiropractic's loyal supporter, attending an array of events and networking functions. Her affable nature makes her a valuable demonstrator and marketing asset. Lucy's impressive repertoire includes appearances at small business gatherings, a 4-H club meeting, and Mauldin, South Carolina's National Night Out.
In 2024, we adopted Hei Hei, a Black Australorp, as an 8-month-old laying hen. She quickly asserted her dominance within the flock. Chiropractic care plays a crucial role in maintaining her consistent egg production and helping her manage the stresses associated with being the leader.
Coral Bell, adopted in 2024 as part of the original laying hen flock, was in the process of recovering from a severe eye infection at the time. With the help of chiropractic care and without further medication, she made an excellent recovery. Despite losing the use of her left eye, Coral Bell has adjusted remarkably well. As a Barred Rock hen, she is a dependable egg layer. She benefits significantly from chiropractic care, which helps her navigate life with one eye.
C.J., affectionately referred to as Charlotte Junior, was named in honor of a highly esteemed staff member at Evergreen Chiropractic and Wellness. This staff member's affinity for chickens is unparalleled. Adopted in 2024 as an 8-month-old laying hen, C.J. is a small New Hampshire Red hen who contributes significantly to the coop. Despite being the smallest in the flock, she consistently prioritizes snacks. Chiropractic care has enabled her to maintain spinal alignment, facilitating effortless egg-laying. Moreover, this care has enhanced the size and weight of her eggs since her adoption.
Feather Ann, named after a remarkable individual, Heather Ann, has joined the Wishing Wellness family. Adopted at four months old in April 2025, Feather Ann received her first adjustment upon her homecoming. This Silver Laced Wyendotter hen boasts a bright future ahead.
Orla, a Gold Laced Wyendotter hen, was adopted with Feather Ann, and they have formed a strong bond ever since. Orla, at 4 months old, is commencing egg laying. She received her first chiropractic adjustment on her adoption day to aid in adapting to her new surroundings.
In April 2025, Shiloh, a sweet 2-month-old Buff Orpington hen, joined our family. We have initiated her chiropractic care plan for a happy and healthy life.
Mabel, a precious 2-month-old Blue Star hen, became one of the newest members of our farm in April 2025. Coincidentally, she shares her name with Mabel Palmer, a groundbreaking woman chiropractor. With consistent chiropractic care, this young hen is on track to grow strong and beautiful.
Ethel, a gorgeous 2-month-old Rustic Rock hen, has been capturing our hearts since April 2025. Foraging for worms is her passion, and she often appears as a miniature feathered football player rushing to the end zone while being pursued by her flock mates for the worm in her possession. Ethel's chiropractic care is playing a crucial role in her growth into a healthy and vigorous hen.
